Frank Sinatra: Big Band and Early Solo Days

Sinatra has always been popular in Rhode Island. This program focuses on the singer’s debut with the band of Harry James, his tenure with Tommy Dorsey, and his early noteworthy recordings as a solo artist.

Dr. Steven M. Kane received his doctorate in Cultural Anthropology from Princeton University. He is a psychotherapist in private practice in Providence and a part-time professor of anthropology at URI and RIC. A professional jazz pianist, he is experienced as a jazz educator, record reviewer, and keyboard teacher. He is the founder and director of the Life-Enrichment Center of New England.

Availability: Varies according to the speaker’s clinical and teaching schedules. Both daytimes and evenings are possible.
