Welcome to the Rhode Island Center for the Book
- Rhode Island Center for the Book was established in 2003, and is an affiliate of the Center for the Book at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
- Rhode Island Center for the Book celebrates the art and heritage of reading, writing, making, and sharing books. Through a variety of programs and activities, the Center promotes a love for books among people of all ages and backgrounds across Rhode Island.
- Rhode Island Center for the Book is a cooperative effort of a dedicated community of volunteers. People from varied backgrounds and interests come together to celebrate their love of books. If you would like to volunteer or become a member, please send us an email or call (401) 273-2250.
- As of July 2011, Rhode Island Center for the Book is hosted by Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, is dedicated to inspiring and supporting intellectual curiosity and imagination is all Rhode Islanders.

Reading Across Rhode Island
Rhode Island's One Book, One State community read program - this highly successful, statewide reading initiative is kicking off its 10th year!
Kids Reading Across Rhode Island
The One Book, One State reading initiative is offered in partnership with the RI Office of Library & Information Services (OLIS) is emarking upon its second year!
Letters About Literature
A national writing contest for children in grades 4 - 12, Rhode Island students join 700,000 correspondents from across the nation in writing to authors who have affected their lives.
Art of the Book
Art of the Book events focus on the craft and aethetics of books, bookmaking, and printing. Co-sponsors of the Art of the Book series have been the Providence Athenaeum, the John Russell Bartlett Society, the New England chapter of the American Printing History Association, Friends of the Library at Brown University, University of Rhode Island, and New Leaves Press.
