RICH Board Member

Sarah Beinecke Richardson has served on multiple Boards, including the Boards of Save the Bay, the John Muir Institute for Environmental Studies, the Community Preparatory School, the International Institute of Rhode Island, the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the Rhode Island chapter of the Conservation Law Foundation, and City Year RI.  She is currently Vice-President of Tangent Films in Jamestown and Director of Antaeus Enterprises, Inc. in New York City.  She also serves as a Director of The Prospect Hill Foundation, and has in the past served as a Director of the Frederick W. Beinecke Fund.  In addition to serving as the Co-Chair of RICH's Governance Committee, she also currently serves on the Board of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island as Chair of the Governance Committee. From 1980-1989 she was a Partner in Kingstown Vineyards, and she also worked as Assistant to the Director at the Factory of Visual Arts in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Richardson received her B.A. in British and American Literature from Brown University, and also studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and Colorado College.  When asked to comment on her interest in joining the RICH Board, Ms. Richardson stated that she "would like to be actively involved in stimulating and insuring the perpetuation of healthy public dialogue and discussion which asks the questions of what and why and who we are.  I would be honored to serve with the staff and Board of RICH in nurturing a community of respectful reflection, courageous thinking, independent expression, and lively dialogue."
